Mamelodi Sundowns forward Abubeker Nasir has promised to ‘be back soon’ from a horrific injury he suffered on Friday.
The Ethiopian was stretchered off after clashing with Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane in first-half added time.

Abubeker Nasir had just made a return to action for the first time since September when he got injured again.
The former Ethiopia Coffee forward has given an update for the injury that dampened the mood after Sundowns’ 2-0 win over Pirates.
“Thank you for sending me all your overwhelming love and support,” Abubeker Nasir wrote on his Facebook page.
“I am so thrilled that you kept me in your thoughts and close to your heart. I’ll be back soon.”
Sundowns coach Steve Komphela has since called for protection of players from rough challenges.
“The yesterday Dr’s report was promising though it was too early to have full context and extent of his injury but that’s how players careers tragically come to an end when we are heartless and vindictive,” Komphela tweeted.
“Players need protection. The game needs arbitration without prejudice.”

The former Kaizer Chiefs coach, Komphela, was responding to a concern from a fan, Nyosi, over Abubeker Nasir’s injury.
Another supporter Mcwaningi was not impressed with Komphela’s explanation for Nasir’s injury.
“I expect better from you coach. This was a clash of players going for the ball and Mpotshane landed on Nasir and their feet got entangled, go watch the footage,” Mcwaningi tweeted.
“Stop acting like victims as if Sundowns players are targeted. You can do much better than that.”
The 22-year-old Nasir signed for Sundowns from Coffee at the start of this season.
The Ethiopian international has, save for the injuries, largely impressed with his pace and trickery.
Nasir has also proved to be efficient in front of goal for Sundowns thereby offering coach Rulani Mokwena options in the attacking-third.
Nasir is also a key player for Ethiopia national team which will resume its 2023 AFCON qualifiers in March this year.

Ethiopia are in the same group with Malawi, Guinea and Egypt in the 2023 AFCON race.
The Sundowns attacker was on target when Ethiopia stunned the Pharaohs of Egypt 2-0 earlier this year.
