Sophie Lichaba (formerly Sophie Ndaba) is an award-winning South African actress. She is one of the South African female celebrities who were able to conquer challenges on their way and make a name for themselves.

She is also confident in what she can offer and her life skills which have been an edge for her over competitions. She captured the mind of television viewers after she was cast on the popular series in the country Generations.

Early life

Her date of birth is on 15 July 1972 and the place of birth is in Soweto, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Sophie Ndaba is 51 years old. Yea! Someone could think she is in her mid-twenties because of her stunning looks.

Little wonder she played the role of a twenty-year-old Queen Moraka in the popular drama series Generations. She has also landed other notable roles in several movies including She is King and Gog’ Hellen.

She had her high school education in Zimbabwe after which she became a model.

Apart from being an actress, she is a proud mother of two (2) big girls and a young man. Yea! You read right, the actress has given birth to three children; Rudo, Shallon, and Lwadle Ndaba.

Shallon is her niece who she adopted after the demise of her sister Tiny Mphasane.

Illness

Though the much-loved actress in the country has diabetes, she doesn’t allow it to come between her and her career. Rather, she made a vow to combat it with all she’s got in an IG post, and trust me she is.

She also says in writing that she is a self-proclaimed ambassador to everyone that is fighting a terminal illness.

Career

The actress has gained popularity and presence for being a cast on Generation. On the SABC1 soap opera, she plays the role of Queen Moroka.

Her first television appearance was with the series Class of ’92. After which other acting opportunities followed, she landed acting roles in Thlaranthlophe, and Yizo Yizo 1.

Both viewers and producers started to fall in love with her acting style. The next role in acting was in Egoli and Soul City.

She then recorded her big break in the entertainment industry after she cast in the popular Mzansi series Generations. The actress’s talent has been her guide in the industry since she did not undergo formal training in acting.

In 2015, she landed a role on High Rollers and was cast as Harried on the SABC3 casino telenovela. In the year that followed, 2016, she landed another acting role on another popular TV series. On the show Isidingo, she was cast as Nkadimeng.
