Another person has sadly passed away at the Ekurhuleni famous dam, Zonkezizwe, just few days after the death of two traditional healers.

According to Daily Sun, a man drowned in Zonkezizwe, Ekurhuleni, on Thursday, 31 October.

According to the Disaster & Emergency Management Services (DEMS) spokesman William Ntladi, the man drowned at Natalspruit River near Zonkezizwe.

“This happened at the same river where two bodies of izangoma were recovered on Sunday, 27 October, after drowning in an incident involving a cultural ritual.

“The drowning of the adult man today was brought to the city’s attention by members of the public who witnessed the incident and informed a passing firefighter working for the city,” said Ntladi.

He said that the firefighter called a rescue team that responded immediately and entered the river at the point where the person allegedly drowned.

“The search continued downstream for half a kilometre before the recovery of the lifeless body of a male aged about forty years.

“The scene was handed over to the local police for investigations, and the mortal remains were removed to an appropriate facility,” said Ntladi.
