Cape Town Spurs head coach Shaun Bartlett has given an update on Boitumelo Radiopane.

Radiopane, 20, joined Spurs on loan from Orlando Pirates in August in a season-long loan but is yet to feature for the Cape Town-based side.

He scored 24 goals in the DStv Diski Challenge last campaign and was named DDC Player of the Season, which earned him a call-up to South Africa’s squad for the COSAFA Cup where he made three appearances.

However, the 2022/23 campaign has not gone to plan and was once again only on the sidelines when when Urban Warriors beat La Masia by 3-1 in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Tuesday.

“He’s back in training now,” Bartlett told iDiski Times, when asked about the talented striker.

“Just unfortunate, obviously, every time he gets close to being in the squad or playing a match, he gets a knock in training, and then he puts himself out.

“So we’re managing him at this moment in time. We obviously now don’t have a game for the rest of the month because of the under 23 players leaving tonight.

“So our postponed games in November, hopefully he’ll be ready for those games. So it’ll be nice to see him obviously running out for us.”

The win saw Spurs move into seventh place, with 12 points from eight matches.
