South Africa’s three representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup have learnt their opponents for the second preliminary round in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Cape Town City dropped down from the CAF Champions League into the CAF Confederations Cup after losing 4-0 to Petro de Luanda on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Royal AM eliminated ZESCO United based on the away goal rule after picking up a 1-1 draw in Zambia after the first leg had remained goalless and Gallants beat Elgeco Plus from Madagascar 4-1 on aggregate.

On Tuesday, the losers of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round and the winners of the CAF Confederations Cup first preliminary round were placed into four drawing pots based on their CAF ranking and drawn against each other.

Royal AM got a tough draw after being paired with five-time CAF Champions League winners TP Mazembe, while Gallants face last year’s CAFCC semi-finals Al Ahli Tripoli from Libya.

Cape Town City will face USMA of Algeria in their quest to make the group stages for the first time.
