Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Percy Tau who is keen on sealing a move away from Al Ahly.
Nasreddine Nabi revealed that Kaizer Chiefs have not made any contact with the 30-year-old who has also been linked with Rhulani Mokwena’s Wydad Athletic Club.
However, recent comments by the club’s Team Manager Gerald Sibeko contradict the Tunisian.
“[Chiefs] certainly want to sign Percy Tau based on the coach’s request. Unfortunately, Percy Tau does not want to take our call,” he told ElbaladSport, as per Soccer Laduma.
“We called him today as well, and he did not respond to us.”
Apart from Tau, Chiefs have been heavily linked to Pyramids forward Fiston Mayele to replace struggling Ranga Chivaviro and Christian Saile.
The duo scored a combined eight goals in South Africa’s top tier as the Soweto giants finished 10th in the Premier Soccer League, their worst-ever conclusion.
After strengthening the goalkeeping department, defence, and midfield, it will be crucial for Chiefs to get a lethal forward to complement them.
The Glamour Boys will start their PSL campaign on Saturday, September 14 against Marumo Gallants.
