The first leg of the Miss Universe Nigeria finals took place in Lagos over the weekend and some South African citizens, who are following the pageant in the aftermath of the Chidimma Adetshina saga, are not impressed with what they have seen.
According to a statement released by the event organisers, the contestants arrived at the Festival Hotel in Lagos where the “atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and anticipation.”
The most important event of the day was the official pageant photo shoot.
“With poised elegance, each contestant posed for the cameras, marking the beginning of their journey toward the coveted crown,” read the statement.
Images of the first day’s activities were shared on X and people, mainly South Africans, were not impressed by the set-up.
One person said that “the decor looks like a church decor from a certain village.”
Images of former Miss SA finalist, who is now a Miss Universe Nigeria finalist, Chidimma Adetshina, was spotted among the contestants.
Many X users are saying that she doesn’t look too impressed either.
