Family wants to clear the truth when a man accused of murdering a woman from KwaQwabe Location (eTsheni), Mthwalume is tried in court.

There are suspicions that he brutally killed her because of sex trade.

In this incident, Ms. Mbali Ndaba (38) is said to have been pelted with a stone, strangled, and thrown into a ravine by the suspect (18), when they were returning from an event in the area.

According to the source, it is said that the man left to enrich himself in his family after committing the incident. It is said that he had bought sex from the deceased.

It is said that they had sex in the bush for the first time, and when she said that they would not do it again, the deceased changed her mind and said that he would arrest her for the crime of rape, so he thought it would be better to kill her.

The cousin of the deceased, Ms. Khangisile Shabane said that they are a family that does not believe in the issue of “selling” sex.

“What would make him agree the first time, and then threaten to arrest him if he says they don’t do it again?” For us, this aspect does not make sense. We believe that he was raping her, then killed her when he heard that he was going to arrest her,” said Ms. Shabane.

He went on to say that the discovery of the deceased’s underwear at the scene of the incident, and the discovery of him wearing pants that ended up below the buttocks, were turned upside down and left many with questions.

“What would make him wear half his pants and distort them? What would make him forget to wear his underwear, and leave it at the scene? We are painting a picture for him that he dressed her up, and that he has killed her,” he said.

Narrating what they found out about the incident, he said they found out about it on Monday, and they have already started worrying about why he went to the event on Sunday and didn’t come back.

“The chief police officer came, accompanied by the law enforcement officers, to inform the family that the suspect had informed them of his actions, and even showed them the scene of the incident,” said Ms. Shabane.

He said they found out that the suspect failed to hide the incident, he enriched himself from his family, his uncle got up and told him to go and enrich himself from the police.

“The way my uncle acted, we applaud him as a family. But we want this child to come clean about what made him kill Mbali. We are still surprised and shocked by its action.”

“If he had killed him and gotten rich, we would not have suspected him at all in the slightest and he would be a neighbor again,” he said.

Women of Mthwalume, an organization that fights for women and children, Ms. Nombuso Sibisi said that the brutality committed by the suspect when he was young is shocking.

“It worries us that such a horrific crime was committed by such a young child who we hoped would grow up to be a real man,” said Ms. Sibisi.

He said that this gives them the impression that maybe the youths are watching this cruelty from older men, and he said that they will support the family and look at the case with red eyes when it continues in court.

The KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, said the Msinsini police arrested a man for murdering a woman in Qwabe Location.

“It is reported that the body of the deceased was found in the river with injuries,” said Netshiunda.

He said the suspect appeared at Turton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. The case was adjourned to Tuesday.
