The family of the late Moses “Lady Mo” Sibiya (34) says they will deeply miss his vibrant energy and lively personality.

According to Daily Sun, Lady Mo passed away on Friday, 4 July, following a tragic accident that involved a minibus taxi and a sedan on the D2296 road between KaNyamazane and Tekwane South.

Family spokesman Fuki Mofokeng shared with Daily Sun that the family had high hopes for him and is devastated by his untimely loss.

“He was energetic, lively, and had a big personality and massive dreams. We were expecting a lot from him, especially with such energy. There was still more to come from him in the entertainment space and his growth as a socialite.”

Fuki described Lady Mo as an intellect whose intelligence was sometimes overshadowed by his actions.

He added that the family is struggling to come to terms with the loss.

“We believed there were still moments he was going to experience and achievements he was going to achieve. It is very heartbreaking to lose someone like him. He was still very young and full of potential. He loved people, and people loved him in return.”

“We will miss his lively energy and brilliant mind. His presence is already sorely missed. He always brought laughter to those around him and made sure to comfort others during difficult times.”

This followed the circulation of a graphic video on Facebook, showing the accident scene and victims in a pool of blood.

“We want to express our sincere regret about the video that was shared online. Learning about his death from social media before the family was even notified was deeply hurtful.

“It was heartbreaking, and we condemn this behaviour. We do not want another family to go through this. It was incredibly distressing to witness,” Fuki emphasised.

Lady Mo rose to fame in 2022 when videos of him singing at funerals went viral on social media.

He gained a significant following and earned the title of “funeral influencer.”

He was not only a singer but also an MC, comedian, and promoter. Lady Mo became known for his singles, such as Ama Fall Fall and Dumi Dumi, which he frequently performed at funerals and other gatherings.

A memorial service will be held for him on Friday, 11 July, at KaMashego Community Hall.

Lady Mo will be laid to rest on Sunday, 13 July, in Pienaar, outside Mbombela.
