Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Kgotso Moleko has secured a new club after spending an extended period away from top-flight football, with the experienced right-back joining Lesotho Premier League outfit Lifofane FC.
The 36-year-old defender, who turns 37 in August, has signed for Lifofane as the ambitious club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new campaign.

Kgotso Moleko’s move is understood to be a short-term arrangement, believed to be a one-year deal, with the club expected to reassess the situation at the end of the season before deciding on the future.
“Lifofane wanted experience and leadership in the squad. Moleko has signed, and the understanding is that it’s a short-term deal, believed to be for one year.”
“The club will assess things after the season and then make a decision on the way forward,” a source close to the developments told Soccer Laduma.
The move represents a significant opportunity for the former Chiefs defender, who has endured a difficult few years since leaving AmaZulu FC in July 2022.
After spending several months without a club, Moleko signed for Maritzburg United during the second half of the 2022/23 season in January 2023.
However, his stay was cruelly disrupted when he suffered a broken leg shortly after joining the KwaZulu-Natal side, limiting his chances of making an impact.
Since then, Moleko has been without a club at the highest level, making his switch to Lesotho an important step in his efforts to continue his professional career.
Lifofane, meanwhile, have made no secret of their ambitions.
The club finished second in the Lesotho Premier League during the 2025/26 season and is understood to be building a squad capable of challenging for the championship in the upcoming campaign.
Club officials believe Moleko’s vast experience could prove invaluable both on and off the field as they look to bridge the gap to the league’s top side.

Having enjoyed a successful spell with the now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic and Amakhosi earlier in his career, where he established himself as one of the league’s most reliable full-backs, Moleko now has an opportunity to bring that experience to a Lifofane side determined to take the next step in their pursuit of silverware.
