It has been reported that the late William Masumpa (78) had been followed by strangers for a week before he was brutally murdered.

According to Daily Sun, his concerned wife said she asked him if he owed anyone, but the William said no.

The day before William died, three men allegedly came to his house in Duduza, Ekurhuleni, and found him in the kitchen.

His wife, Tina Masumpa said he told her they looked at him and left without saying a word.

The mkhulu was gripped by fear. The following day, on the night of 27 August, the same three men returned.

They were armed and allegedly ordered William’s 43-year-old daughter Nomthandazo Masumpa to remain in the living room as two of the suspects went into mkhulu’s bedroom.

Tina said she was at her parents’ house on the night the incident happened.

“I’m told two men went to his bedroom and strangled him using a cable tie, which ripped through his flesh. That’s what my daughter told me,” she said.

William died on his bed.

“After the two suspects were done, they came to the one who was in the living room with my daughter and told him the job was done, and they fled,” she said.

Thina said she received a call from Nomthandazo, who told her they were attacked by robbers and her husband had been killed.

“I was overwhelmed by emotions, and this didn’t make sense to me.”

Shockingly, Nomthandazo was arrested for allegedly ordering a hit on her dad.

Spokeswoman for Ekurhuleni District police Captain Nelda Sekgobela said Nomthandazo was arrested two days after the incident and released to go bury her dad while police were busy with the investigation.

On Monday, 2 September, she was rearrested.

She appeared in the Nigel Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 4 September, and the case was postponed to 11 September for further investigation.

William’s brother Vuyisile Masumpa said he wants all those implicated in his murder to face consequences.

“My brother was a good man. He didn’t deserve to be killed like this,” Vuyisile said.

He said two weeks before William was killed, he planned to visit, little did he know it was the last time he’d be speaking to him.
