Ngizwe Mchunu is a popular South African radio personality and sangoma. He was known as a presenter for Ukhozi FM but was fired after allegedly breaching a confidentiality policy by sharing private station information publicly.
Following his exit from the channel, he launched his own online radio station, Ngizwe Mchunu FM, which first aired on 14 September 2019 from 09:00-23:00.
Accusations
Mchunu is a diehard supporter of former South African president Jacob Zuma. He was seen on guard outside the former president’s Nkandla homestead, before his arrest and imprisonment, insisting the president would not be taken away..
Mchunu was accused of instigating and urging others to commit theft and violence during a press conference made in Johannesburg, following the 2021 unrest in South Africa.
He was charged with incitement to commit public violence. He handed himself over to police on 19 July 2021.
He was released by the magistrate that heard his bail application after considering the evidence against him to be weak.
However, he was required to hand over his passport to police in order to secure his release as he was considered a flight risk. In November 2023, he was reported to have been found not-guilty.

According to reports, Ngizwe Mchunu was born in 1985. As of January 2024, Ngizwe Mchunu is 39 years old.
Wives
Ngizwe Mchunu attempted to marry three women but it did not work out for him.
While South Africa’s legal system does allow for polygamous marriages under the Recognition of Customary Marriages Act, there are rules that it must be done in accordance with recognised traditions.
Unfortunately, Mchunu did not follow them.
He was taken to court by his first wife, Siphelele Nxumalo in 2014 in an attempt to nullify his civil marriage to Florida Mthimkhulu, who would have been his third wife.
Mchunu’s marriages to his second partner Lindiwe Khuzwayo and his third partner Florida were nullified by the court because Mchunu had failed to meet one of the requirements of traditional African marriages.
It stipulates that any man wishing to take another wife must first make an application to court to approve a written contract regulating the future matrimonial property system of the marriages.
This ended his dream of having three wives.
Radio Career
Mchunu was prominent for hosting the Ukhozi FM live and the Sigiya Ngengoma program.
He was reported to have violated his contract terms by sharing confidential information about the radio station, among other accusations.
