Mzansi left shocked as the IDOLS SA season 13 runner-up Mthokozisi Ndaba has been arrested following a family dispute.

Mthokozisi, now a well-known musician, was taken into custody by KwaMashu police on Sunday, 15 March, after a fight with his cousin.

Both opened assault cases against each other and were arrested.

A reliable source told Daily Sun that Mthokozisi, who lives in Soweto, visited his family in KwaMashu on Monday, 9 March, where the altercation began.

“For now, it is not clear what the two are fighting about as they are accusing each other of many things, but it is sad that they failed to resolve the issue and ended up opening counter-charges against each other.

“They are both arrested, and we don’t know what they stand to lose from this arrest. The situation between them is very bad, and the arrest was better for them than seeing them fight to a point where they could kill each other,” the source said.

Daily Sun visited the KwaMashu cop shop to confirm Mthokozisi’s arrest. During visiting hours at 2pm, Mthokozisi confirmed he had been arrested and showed Daily Sun the wounds he sustained during the fight.

He declined to comment further, stating that the matter is now with the police.

However, Mthokozisi emphasised that he handed himself over and is cooperating fully.

He is scheduled to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court in Durban on Monday, 16 March.

Mthokozisi recently released his debut album, Incwadi Encane, in 2025, along with a new single, Le Valentine, featuring Babes Wodumo.

Daily Sun revealed they requested an official confirmation from KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda, who acknowledged the request.
