According to KwaZulu Private Ambulance’s spokesperson, Craig Botha, paramedics are attending to another collision in the same location as yesterday.
“Currently, paramedics are attending to four patients, no fatalities,” Botha said.
In Thursday’s crash, three pupils who had been inside the taxi were declared deceased on scene, while another two pupils were declared deceased while en route to the hospital.
The taxi driver, who allegedly jumped out of the taxi before it crashed, had been detained by police for questioning.
KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service commends the swift response of our paramedics.
While we are thankful for the lack of serious injuries, we want to use this opportunity to remind drivers of the importance of road safety, especially when carrying vulnerable passengers like school children.
