Yet another head-on collision claims three lives over the past weekend at the N4 highway in Mpumalanga.

According to Daily Sun, three people have been killed and two seriously were injured following a head-on collision between a bakkie and sedan on the N4 between Karino and Valencia in Mpumalanga on Saturday night, 6 September.

According to Mpumalanga Community Safety spokesman, Moeti Mmusi, the sedan went on to overturn on the side of the road after colliding with the bakkie.

“Two people from the sedan sustained serious injuries. No injuries were reported in the bakkie.”

“The deceased included two men and one woman and they were flung out of the sedan as it overturned.”

“The injured were stabilised by paramedics before being transported to the nearby medical facilities in Mbombela,” he said.

Mmusi said the cause of the crash is not known at this stage, however, three cases of culpable homicide are currently being investigated.
