Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has responded to questions whether his side need a Striker Coach.

Zwane’s men lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, marking their third successive defeat and third match without finding the back of the net.

The Chiefs coach has continuously lamented his side’s lack of composure and wastefulness in front of goal, and with Orlando Pirates becoming the latest club to appoint a Striker Coach – having scored seven goals in the two games since Scott Chickelday started his work – Zwane was asked whether the Glamour Boys might also go that route.

“Going forward we might strengthen that department of getting a Striker Coach, because there is so much going on in the game,” he said.

The game has evolved. So if we can’t get it right, us as coaches, then we might go that route.”

Overall, there are only five teams who’ve scored more league goals than Chiefs’ 18 this season so far, with next opponents Royal AM being one of them, having netted 19.

The Amakhosi host Thwihli Thwahla at the Peter Mokaba Stadium this coming Sunday, when Zwane will hope his men can stop their three-game losing streak.

Chiefs have dropped into sixth position on the DStv Premiership log, six points off second-placed Richards Bay and sit 22 behind run-away log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
