Arthur Zwane admitted that he understood fans’ disappointment as a police escort was deployed after his Kaizer Chiefs side suffered a demoralising defeat to Golden Arrows.

Chiefs were leading Sunday’s DStv Premiership encounter by 2-1 before a late Knox Mutizwa brace clinched a dramatic win for Arrows at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

A deflated Zwane said that fans were within their rights to show their displeasure after jeers were heard around the stadium at the full-time whistle.

Alarmingly, a police escort in the form of a barricade was deployed at the final whistle to prohibit disgruntled fans from invading the pitch.

“Look, it’s within their rights. I mean they are disappointed and they believe we should have won this game,” Zwane said post-match.

“I also believe we should have wrapped it up first half. We let ourselves down and I understand their frustration. We had a number of chances.

“Today is one game for me we should have scored at least six from the first half and you look at the second half, we ended up conceding three goals unnecessarily.

“But it is one of those things where you have a bad day at the office.”
