Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane says the draw with Marumo Gallants was another game where they ‘gave away’ the points.
Chiefs extended their winless run to three matches in the DStv Premiership after a 1-1 draw against ten-man Gallants on Sunday afternoon.
Mahlatse Makudubela got the opener for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa in the first stanza before Zitha Kwinika snatched a late equaliser after the Limpopo side were down to ten men after the red card of Olivier Toure.
“Ja look it’s one of the day where for me we gave away points again, it was there for the taking, though we didn’t have a good game,” Zwane told SuperSport TV.
“I think first-half we started slow, we picked up, I think in ten minutes we had a one v one situation with Sekgota and then from then, from a pass in the middle.
“That one player made a run from deep and four of our players just standing and we always say when there’s no pressure on the ball it’s an open centre,” he said.
“And none of them [put pressure on the ball] and the ball hit Zitha’s knee, then it fell on the path of Otladisa [Makudubela] and they punished us and that’s the only thing I remember that they have done in this game.
“That’s why I say it was there for the taking, we planned, we knew, we said let them have the ballin front of us, not many of them will go on direct runs, only that one when you look at the entire 90 minutes,” he went on.
“Maybe another one where they looked dangerous but not from a similar. But you knw this is one game, how many box entries did we have in the second-half, even before they got a red-card?
“We had box entries but again poor decision-making in the final third, which is something we have been working on ever since we started training, composure inside the box and pick one player.
“We just couldn’t get it right and we had to score froma deadball situation which is something that I’m happy about because we have also not been getting our deadball situations right, so maybe that will help us to gain confidence in terms of deadball situations.
“But apart from that, other than the goal they scored that we gave them they didn’t pose any danger.”
