Wydad Atheltic Club has denied they are trying to lure Pitso Mosimane to the club as he’s currently out of their financial reach.
Mosimane and Wydad have spared a special relationship over the years during his time with Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly competing for the CAF Champions League.

Ferocious and heated encounters over the years developed a mutual respect between the club’s supporters and the three-time Champions League winning coach but since moving to the Gulf with Al Ahli – he’s simply moved into an income bracket not many on the continent could possibly compete with at present.
With Tunisian Medhi Nafti increasingly under pressure at the reigning African champions, Mosimane’s name has been bandied about with links to the club alongside Petro de Luanda boss Alexandre Santos – but it appears Patrice Carteron is the favourite should a change be made this season.
“This news is not true at all, as, five years ago, the same reports linked Musimani and Al-Wydad, and they are reports inspired by the imagination of some,” a source within the club told Egyptian publication Koora.
“Pitso Mosimane appreciates Wydad and repeatedly expressed his feelings of love for this club and his attachment to its supporters.
“But this does not mean appointing Mosimane for two reasons: the first is that he is committed to another club with whom he has a contract, and he did not express his desire to leave Al Ahli, and the second reason is Mosimane’s financial cost.

“His large salary and his compensation [to buy him out of Al Ahli] far exceed Wydad’s capabilities at present.”
Mosimane is currently on course to lead the fallen giants of Saudi Arabian football back to the top-flight in his first season in charge.
