The wife of Ekurhuleni Metro cop applies for bail after being arrested for hiring a hitman to kill his husband.

She appeared in theĀ Springs Magistrates Court in Ekurhuleni on Thursday, 27 February.

In affidavits supporting her bail application, she denied hiring izinkabi to kill her husband.

In her first affidavit, she denied knowing accused number 1.

However, in her second affidavit, she said she knew accused number 1 as someone from whom she and her dead husband bought a display refrigerator for their spaza shop.

Sibongile Dlamini (42) claimed to know the accused by the name Siphiwe, not as Ntliziyozabantu Magwanyana.

Dlamini requested bail to manage the financial and health affairs of her son who is living with a disability.

The state sought a postponement to investigate her claims about her son lacking a caregiver.

The defence argued that further postponement was unwarranted, as the state already had sufficient evidence regarding the son’s disability.

The court said it would consider both the child’s interests and the demands of justice to reach a fair conclusion.

The state was granted a brief postponement until Tuesday, 4 March, to verify the defence’s information about the child’s disability.

Daniel Skosana, the uncle of killed Banele Skosana, expressed the family’s shock at the wife’s denials.
