South African well-known photographer Vino Snap, also know as ‘The eye of an eagle’, was recognized after winning two awards on Saturday.

According to Daily Sun, the 31-year-old Vino from Moletjie in Limpopo recently won two prestigious awards: Best Photographer of the Year at the South African Social Media Awards on Saturday, 23 November, and Best Sports Photographer at the Gauteng Sports Awards on Sunday, 24 November.

Vino, whose real name is Pitsi Vincent Matlou, told Daily Sun that seeing young boys and girls from ekasi living their dreams is one of his biggest motivations.

“My biggest inspiration is my family and the Vino Snap community. Even on my worst days, they show me unconditional love. Perseverance and mental strength give me the edge against all odds,” he said.

The multi-award-winning photographer explained how witnessing young people achieve their goals inspires him to keep pushing.

“My motivation comes from seeing these young boys and girls from ekasi reaching their dreams and changing the lives of people around them. Coming from a Christian family, I’ve always been taught to stay humble,” he said.

In addition to being a celebrated photographer, Vino is a teacher at a high school in Sebokeng, Vaal, where he guides the youth toward their dreams.

“Outside sports photography, I’m a professional teacher in Sebokeng zone 7. That’s where I also get to change lives daily.”

“I’m a family-oriented guy, and when I’m not working, I spend time with my better half or play video games,” he said.

Vino emphasised that his faith and determination are the driving forces behind his success.

“I’m not going to give up until I reach my goals. It all boils down to trusting in the Lord,” he said
