Louis Moyo was sentenced to life in prison after he admitted to killing Grace Khoza in March 2024 following an argument over money meant to pay for her dowry.
Police investigations revealed that the couple, who had been cohabiting since 2020, were involved in an altercation on 12 March 2024 over R15,000 lobola that was in Khoza’s account.

“During the confrontation, Moyo brutally assaulted Khoza using various objects, ultimately stabbing her and leaving her to bleed to death.”
“After the attack, he locked the room and fled the scene,” said the National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane.
Three days later, the couple’s landlord discovered the 41-year-old’s decomposed body after being alerted by an unusual odour and a large swarm of flies.
When he was arrested, Moyo was found with the deceased’s bank card, her identity document and cellphone.
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to murder and being in the country unlawfully.
