Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has endured sleepless nights thinking of a way to up his game at the club, admitting that his statistics are below par for an attacking midfielder.
According to FarPost , Sithebe says he has been trying to find a way to improve as he is not pleased with his performances so far at Amakhosi.
The 29-year-old joined Chiefs at the start of the season from AmaZulu, where he had a stellar spell.
But since arriving at Kaizer Chiefs, Siyethemba Sithebe has only displayed a glimpse of his true potential, and the midfielder was revealed the two things that give him sleepless nights.
Sithebe wants to become a provider more often and also find himself in goal-scoring areas regularly.
The Chiefs midfielder has played nine games in all competitions with no assist nor goal to his name.
Although his stats are alarming for an attacking midfielder, Sithebe remains optimistic that he will improve his attacking prowess and help Amakhosi win matches.
“For me as a player, I want to improve and keep my game at a high level, get assists as a midfielder,” Sithebe.
“Since the season started, we have been struggling in the offensive third; even myself, I want to make more box entries; that’s what I need more.
“I had plans to start the season well at Chiefs, but things so far haven’t been going my way and accordingly.
“As an attacking midfielder, when you play six to seven games, and you don’t assist, people will start asking questions, and that puts you under pressure.
“So I think I need to start to pick up my game and work even harder for the team,” he concluded.
Sithebe is in line to start for Chiefs and face his former club AmaZulu in the MTN8 semi-final first-leg clash at FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
