But on Thursday, 2 April, their turn to die arrived as cops managed to track them down to a house in Mhlasini.
When the cops arrived, the wanted suspects opened fire. Cops returned fire, and the suspects were fatally wounded.
Two guns were found at the scene, and no cops sustained any injuries.
It is alleged that these wanted suspects were famous for having guns and using them at every chance they got.
A resident said the dead suspects were staying in the house for a short while.
“We used to see them coming and leaving, but they were not originally from our area. We heard that they were known for killing,” he said.
The KwaZulu-Natal police spokesman, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, confirmed that two suspects who were wanted for serious and violent crimes, including murder in and around Verulam, were shot and fatally wounded in a shootout with police in the early hours of Thursday morning, 2 April.
“Police were following up on intelligence about the whereabouts of the suspects.”
