Kaizer Chiefs recorded their third win in a row in all competitions after beating Casric Stars 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday night.
It was also yet another occasion where teenager Mduduzi Shabalala performed well in a Chiefs first team jersey and won the man of the match award.

Those performances from the 18-year-old have coincided with Chiefs finally getting some much needed momentum towards the business end of the season. After last night’s performance, Shabalala made a bold promise to the Amakhosi family.
Kaizer Chiefs and Arthur Zwane will be without three big-name stars for the remainder of the season.
Erick Mathoho is likely to miss the rest of the season, according to Goal.
Meaning, Zwane and Amakhosi have a total of THREE stars RULED OUT for the rest of the season.
Mathoho joins the likes of Khama Billiat and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo as players RULED OUT for the rest of the season.
Fortunately, only Ngcobo is a regular starter with Billiat and Mathoho falling out of favour with Zwane.
Zwane confirmed Mathoho’s absence in a recent squad update:
“I don’t want to lie, he has been out for some time and we don’t know in terms of recovery,” Zwane acknowledged following his sides Nedbank Cup victory.
“As things stand, he has not started jogging yet and that alone tells you that [his return] is not going to happen any time soon,” he added on the same publication.
There is an outside chance that he may feature towards the end of the season but this does not look likely.
Even if he does recover in time he is not going to replace the likes of Zitha Kwinika.

Therefore, we may have seen the last of Amakhosi legend Mathoho in the gold and black of Amakhosi.
Regardless, Mathoho will go down as a club legend at Naturena for his dedicated services and stellar performances over the last decade.
