The Thosi family members have finally been laid to rest in Botsoleni village, outside Malamulele, Limpopo, on Saturday, 25 January.

Family members, friends, and neighbours gathered to bid farewell to Hlamulo Thosi (34), his wife Vutomi (31), and their children, Nhlanganiso (11) and Andzo (6).

The family tragically died in a devastating head-on collision along the R81 road on Sunday, 13 January.

Their deaths left the entire village in shock, grappling with the sudden loss of four family members at once.

Both the Thosi and Hlungwane families are struggling to come to terms with the loss, having never prepared for such an immense tragedy.

Hlamulo was celebrated for his dedication to work and family, while Vutomi was cherished for her warmth and active community involvement.

Their children were known for being bright and cheerful, with promising futures ahead.

Family spokesman Joseph Hlungwane expressed the difficulty in accepting their deaths.

“To lose them all at once is very difficult because we were expecting a lot from them, especially the children. Now the family is washed off, and it’s not easy to accept. May their souls rest in peace,” he said.

The funeral marked the end of an incredibly painful chapter for the families. Collins Chabane Local Municipality Mayor Shadrack Maluleke shared words of comfort, “Good people pass away, and the godly often die before their time.

No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die.”

Their untimely deaths have left the village in mourning, with friends and neighbours remembering the Thosi family as kind-hearted and committed to their community.

Villager Vutomi Maswanganyi (39) expressed heartbreak, saying: “We have never seen anything like this in our village. We are devastated and wish the families healing.”
