Thabiso Monyane, born on April 30, 2000, is a South African professional soccer player currently playing as a right-back for Kaizer Chiefs.
He previously spent over a decade with Orlando Pirates, progressing through their academy and making his senior debut in 2019.
Early Life and Career
Monyane was born in Soweto, South Africa.
He joined Orlando Pirates’ youth academy in 2010 and played for their reserve team, Pele Pele, in the PSL Reserve League.
Monyane made his senior debut for Orlando Pirates in the 2019/2020 season. He has represented South Africa at the U17, U20, and U23 levels, including the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Orlando Pirates
Monyane spent over a decade with Orlando Pirates, including his youth and senior career. During his time with the Buccaneers, he won 4 MTN8 titles and 2 Nedbank Cup titles.
He made 68 appearances and scored 5 goals for Orlando Pirates in the league.
Kaizer Chiefs
In 2025, Monyane made a move to Kaizer Chiefs, marking a new chapter in his career. He joined the club as a free agent after his contract with Orlando Pirates expired.
He joined Kaizer Chiefs from Orlando Pirates along with Paseka Mako as they were both free-agents after being released by the Buccaneers.
Thabiso Monyane has already made his unofficial appearances at Kaizer Chiefs in Netherlands during the preseason preparation.
Playing Style
Monyane is known for his pace, strength, and work ethic as a right-back. He has also played as a striker at the youth international level.
At Orlando Pirates, he was converted to a right-back position.
At Amakhosi, he will compete with the likes of Dillan Solomons and Reeve Frosler in that right-back position, which will of course be a tough challenge but Monyane is used to fight for his place.

The 25-year-old recently signed a contract with one of the biggest clubs in the country, which to him is not something new as he also signed a professional contract with the Buccaneers few years ago.
