In a surprising move on August 23, the taxi drivers from the Corner Street Taxi Rank came to work dressed as women, which even surprised their boss, Mr Mabaso.

Mabaso commented to the Estcourt News that he was bowled over by what he saw, as he wasn’t told about the plan. However, he was happy with the result.

“I didn’t know and I was surprised to see them coming to me, asking to take photos with me.”

“I initially ran away, but when I thought about it, I realised they were perfectly in theme because we are in Women’s Month. That tells you that they are promoting respect for women,” said a smiling Mabaso.

This was not the first time that Corner Street Taxi Rank drivers have done something unique. In the past week, they reported for work ‘dressed to kill’.

Mabaso said he suggested that the drivers should dress up formally, but they did more than he expected.

“I would like to thank Mr Dlamini and Mr Mfuphi for managing the drivers and for their contribution in making sure that these boys behave well, are clean, and respect our customers and community,” Mabaso remarked.
