Swallows FC appeared before the Disciplinary Committee on Thursday and pleaded guilty to two counts.
The Soweto outfit were charged for delaying the kick-off against Cape Town City on 9 August 2022 and also amending their team sheet without notifying the match officials.
Nicholus Lukhubeni was initially named in the starting line-up for Swallows but Kwanda Mgnonyama, who was named on the bench, ended up starting the encounter.
Premier Soccer League prosecutor Zola Majavu has confirmed the pleaded guilty on Thursday and were subsequently sanctioned.
“A monitory fine of R50 000, of which R40 000 is suspended and R10 000 payable effectively on condition that during the 12 months, they are not found guilty of the same offence,” Majavu said, via the PSL media department.
“They were also ordered to pay the cost of the sitting.
In total, the amount of money Swallows would have to pay arising from these proceedings is approximately R80 000.”
