Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Kermit Erasmus is eager to make a move before the window closes, but it could be easier said than done.

Erasmus is in the final season of his contract with the DStv Premiership winners, having joined on a three-year deal from Cape Town City in 2020.

With a year left on the deal, Sundowns could cash in by selling him, but it’s understood that there could be issues around his package, with few clubs in the topflight being able to afford the player.

It’s believed that there is also an option of a loan move, with Sundowns being able to carry part of his salary.

Nothing is concrete at the moment, but there is a week left before the window closes and Erasmus will be hoping he can find a home where he can get game-time.

“He wants game-time and he is looking to make a move, but I don’t think the team has received any formal offer,” a well-placed source told the Siya crew.

Another informant said to the Siya crew, “(Cape Town) City can’t take on his wage and he does not want to cut.”

The former Orlando Pirates striker is yet to make an appearance for Sundowns this season and the jersey number 11 he wore is now on the back of new signing Marcelo Allende.

The club is yet to fully explain the reason behind the change in jersey numbers, but it could also spell the end for Erasmus at Chloorkop.
