Mamelodi Sundowns currently have nine players out on loan at various clubs, although that number is unlikely to increase if head coach Rulani Mokwena’s latest utterances are anything to go by.

The young coach, fresh from his fifth consecutive win since taking over the reins at the Brazilians, says his side are a happy camp; and as a result, no players have come forward to request a loan move in the January transfer window, despite limited game time.

The likes of Gift Motupa, Katlego Mohamme, Lesedi Kaping, Reyaad Pieterse and Jody February are amongst the players who have seen very little in terms of action, but the players are content to bide their time and wait for their chance.

Mokwena was responding to questions about possible loan departures from the Sundowns camp, in addition to the nine players, amongst them Grant Margerman, Siyanda Msani, Sammy Seabi who are on loan at various DStv Premiership clubs.

“In relation to transfers, nothing yet and no one has knocked on my door yet to say they want to leave, so the players are happy to be here, and we are happy to have them here,” Mokwena told journalists after their win over Richards Bay.

“If that’s if that’s the status quo, we continue to work and try to make sure that we are all happy to be at service for Mamelodi Sundowns football club, because that’s what’s very important,” he added.

Ronwen Williams is Sundowns’ most used player this season, while Mohamme is amongst those yet to feature for the Brazilians this campaign.
