Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has confirmed that they are in talks with Andile Jali’s camp to extend the contract of their star midfielder.
He said the club once they have found agreement, they will release a statement, but the player is in talks with the club to see his contract extended beyond this season.

Jali’s contract with Tshwane giants will expire at the end of the season and he’s currently in the last six months of his contract before it expires in June.
It means the former Orlando Pirates midfielder, who joined the club in 2018 from KV Oostende in Belgium, is eligible to sign a pre-contract with the club of his choice.
“Andile’s new contract, that department is not really a technical department but the club is speaking to his camp,” confirmed Mokwena after his side broke down a stubborn Richards Bay on a rainy day at King Zwelithini Stadium on Friday in Durban.

“The talks are ongoing because he’s important to us. You have seen in the last two games (including the match against Bay), he played.
“He came on as a sub and he has done exceptionally well. He’s a great leader, he’s a great footballer and he’s important for us.
“So once there is an update the club will speak.”
Jali, unlike last season, has peripherally featured this season with only 6 league appearances as a starter in the 15 matches Sundowns has played thus far.
However, last season he formed a big furniture in the side as Sundowns completed a second treble in the PSL, with Jali walking away with PSL Midfielder of the Season.

He also claimed the MTN8 Last Man Standing and Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament.
In all, Jali, since he arrived five seasons ago, has won four league titles, one MTN8 and two Nedbank Cups, featuring in 159 matches and scoring three goals in the process.
