Mamelodi Sundowns has given goalkeeper Jody February a new deal beyond the end of this season, agent Mike Makaab has revealed.
February’s contract with the Tshwane giants was due to expire at the end of June, and the club has now made the decision to keep him.

February was out at the start of the season due to an injury that kept him from travelling to the USA for the FIFA Club World Cup.
The former Ajax Cape Town shot-stopper recovered towards the end of last year and is now believed to have signed a two-year deal, with an option to renew for another campaign.
It’s unclear at this stage if Denis Onyango will still be a member of the playing squad next season, but Sundowns are making sure that they will have enough cover in the goalkeeping department with a new deal for February.
“We’ve signed a new deal. He recovered from a serious injury. As you know, he played a few games under coach Manqoba (Mngqithi) and was also doing nicely at one stage and then he picked up the injury, so he’s committed his future to the club, and we’ve just got to make sure that he continues on the full road to recovery.”
“He’s now match fit, and let’s see how it pans out,” Makaab said to Soccer Laduma.

He added, “It’s a brand new deal. It’s not a short-term contract.”
Sundowns recently renewed the contract of midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise and are believed to be working on other deals in the final few months of the campaign.
