Lesego Masina is believed to be fighting from the grave and her stepfather has been arrested on murder.
Lesego Masina (32) was shot dead in Mabopane, Tshwane, in July 2025. The family and community have been seeking justice ever since.

Her stepdad, Paulos Masina, founder of St Paulos Apostolic Church in Mabopane, and co-accused Malesela Kekana, are in jail facing charges of murder, two of robbery with aggravating circumstances, and one for kidnapping.
Malesela has since abandoned bail.
Daily Sun first published the story on 28 July 2025 with the headline: “Umjolo bullets: Deadly letter leads to tragic death.”
Lesego’s aunt, Maite Maetane (52), said what happened is painful. She said the man of the cloth is in jail after being arrested on 15 December 2026 when it was discovered he is a suspect in Lesego’s killing.
“The thug who pulled the trigger has sung a song saying he was hired by the pastor to kill Lesego,” she said.
She said Malesela alleged that he was given R2 000 and that a sangoma was also paid for this evil job.
“The truth is coming out. We didn’t believe that he was part of the killing. We are in great pain. He doesn’t deserve bail. We thought people were in church and never knew they were in hell,” she said.
Maite claimed that Lesego supported her mum, Salome Masina, during the divorce process in 2014.
She said that after Lesego’s death, Salome became weak and died in October 2025 from stress.
“This was planned very well, a letter which had a bullet was previously sent to Lesego. All this was Paulos’ plan. There was nothing Lesego would die for, except for supporting her late mum,” she said.
She said they’re disappointed that a pastor is arrested for murder. Maite said that during the funeral, he was wearing skinny jeans, as if he was celebrating Lesego’s death.
“This pastor doesn’t deserve bail. Lesego died two months pregnant. The pastor is evil. Lesego once told me in December 2024 that her stepdad wanted to kill her and told me she will die for supporting her mum. We want justice for Lesego, her unborn child and her mum,” she claimed.
Lesego’s sister, Ofentse Masina (28), said: “I want justice for my sister. I believe my father killed my sister.
“I’m even receiving death threats now. When I visited him at Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre, he told me he was expecting important people than me.”
She said he must go and serve his sentence and get no bail.
Lesego’s boyfriend, Izzy Covane (38), said he is angry after Lesego’s death.
“I still love her so much. I’m not here to witness the killer, but I want justice. This is tormenting me because she was the love of my life,” he said.
He said he would receive strange calls at night from a man saying he wanted Lesego.
Archbishop Molefe Mfulwane from St Paul Body of Christ Apostolic Church in Soshanguve said: “We want justice for Lesego. Pastors like him must resign. I want to tell him to confess to the family and community whether he killed Lesego or not.”
Archbishop Mmapula Rakale of New Bethlehem Prophet Church in Mabopane added: “I’m heartbroken. They are like my family.
“When Lesego died, he was happy, and when a phone rang, he would answer his cellphone on the streets. I want him to rot in jail and his church closed.”
