DStv Premiership side Stellenbosch FC have reportedly made initial enquiries on the availability of Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Monyane.
Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker has already made his intentions clear to venture into the transfer market to strengthen his squad for next season.
The Cape side recently confirmed the departure of up to seven senior players including Robyn Johannes, Granwald Scott and Nathan Sinkala.
Stellies are now believed to be ready to swoop for Monyane who has struggled for game-time at the Buccaneers this season.
According to sources close to Stellenbosch, the club are also interested in recruiting defender Vusi Sibiya from Baroka FC to Cape Town next season.
“The club are looking for young blood and already have identified a number of youngsters it will promote from their MDC team for next season,” said the source.
“The club has made additional enquiries and is very keen to sign Monyane from Pirates. Vusi Sibiya from Baroka is also on their wanted list.”
Stellies are likely to lose striker Ashley du Preez with both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns strongly linked to his signature.
With the Soweto giants believed to be leading the race.
