Bafana Bafana midfielder Sphephelo Sithole has revealed that he was in talks with Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs last season.
The 26-year-old defensive midfielder was linked with Amakhosi but decided to stay with his current club, CD Tondela in Portugal.

He admitted that he would like to move elsewhere after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
KwaZulu-Natal-born midfielder said it wouldn’t be an issue for him joining Kaizer Chiefs.
“I’ve talked to Kaizer Chiefs, I think it was last season,” Sithole said on PowerFM Sport.
“I think I’m ready to compete wherever I can go, because I’ve been I’ve been in Europe for like six years, going into my seventh year.
“So I’m ready. It’s not like I’m going to be in a in a completely new environment. Like whereas a South African boy is going to Europe for the first time,” he added.
Last season, Kaizer Chiefs signed Bafana star Thabo Cele from Europe.
With Yaya keen to play in the Premier Soccer League, it remains to be seen if Amakhosi can pull another big signing.

“I know what it expected for me and I know the advantage of the Europeans so it is not going to be like something new.”
“So I think anywhere I can go right now, I’m more than ready,” said the Bafana star.
