DSTV Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns are rumored to be getting closer to signing a Chilean midfielder who has been playing in Uruguay.
According to reports, Mamelodi Sundowns appear to have signed yet another South American player. Mamelodi Sundowns won the DSTV Premiership last season.
According to Encancha, the signing of Marcelo Allende has been completed by the Sundowns, who have now relocated to Rustenburg for their pre-season training preparations.
After bidding his goodbyes to his teammates with the Montevideo City Torque, Allende, who is currently 23 years old, is said to be on his way to South Africa.
Allende played in 20 games for the team last year, contributing six goals and three assists.
During that time, he had a total of 20 appearances.
The Sundowns have made it a routine to search South America for players with potential, and they have typically been successful in doing so.

Over the course of the past few years, the Sundowns have received significant contributions from players such as Leonardo Castro, Ricardo Nascimento, and Gaston Sirino.
Allende, who is only 23 years old, still has a lot of time on his side and has the potential to make a significant contribution to the club as they attempt to win the CAF Champions League for the first time since former coach Pitso Mosimane led them to victory in 2016.
