A young woman, identified by relatives as Sli, was allegedly murdered by her partner, known as Prince, in KwaMashu, Durban, following what is believed to have been a violent argument over a house.
According to community members and family sources, the tragic incident occurred earlier this week when the couple’s disagreement turned deadly.

It is alleged that Prince attacked Sli during the altercation, leaving her fatally injured. Police and emergency responders were called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
Family members, still reeling from the shock, described Sli as a loving and humble woman whose life was cut short far too soon. “We are devastated. She didn’t deserve to die like this,” one family member said.
The family has also appealed for privacy as they mourn her loss, requesting that images of Sli not be circulated on social media.
The case has once again highlighted the ongoing scourge of gender-based violence (GBV) in South Africa, particularly in domestic settings where disputes often escalate into deadly confrontations.
KwaZulu-Natal police have confirmed that a murder case has been opened and that investigations are ongoing.
While no formal arrests have been announced yet, authorities have urged anyone with information about Prince’s whereabouts to come forward to assist in the case.
Local leaders and gender rights activists have condemned the killing, calling for stronger interventions to protect women from domestic abuse.

“This is another heartbreaking reminder that too many women are unsafe in their own homes,” said a local activist.
The family is preparing for Sli’s funeral and has vowed to seek justice for her death.
