He is facing charges of murder and violation of a protection order.

Ngomane’s legal representative, Thabo Nkosi, requested the court for a postponement to allow him to properly consult with his client on whether he would want to apply for bail or not.

The accused is alleged to have stabbed his cop wife, Sergeant Joyce Masilela (43), multiple times at their home in Ntunda, Nkomazi, in front of their relative. Masilela was stationed at the Tonga Police Station.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 2 December.

Masilela’s body was discovered by police who were conducting a routine check in the area after the community alerted them of a domestic violence incident occurring in the area.

According to relatives, the couple had been in a toxic relationship since 2018.
