Rapper Lehlogonolo Chauke, also known as Shebeshxt, has had another tattoo of his late daughter Onthatile Gladys’s face inked on his body.
Chauke was involved in a tragic car accident in June that left him seriously injured and claimed the life of nine-year-old Onthatile. He took to social media recently to showcase a second tattoo of his daughter’s face on his leg.
“I miss you every second of my life. Until we meet again, my love. Onthatile Gladys, my daughter,” Chauke wrote, with heartbreak and crying emoticons.
This is the second tattoo Chauke has dedicated to his daughter.
Weeks after being released from the hospital, he unveiled the first tattoo of his daughter’s face on his leg.
The latest addition, also on his leg, serves as a powerful testament to the enduring love and grief he carries for his daughter.
After the tragic accident, his lawyer and family spokesperson, Lot Ramusi, told TimesLIVE Chauke had suffered deep trauma after the accident.
“Shebeshxt is devastated, and he’ll be in trauma counselling together with his girlfriend over the loss of their daughter. Emotionally, he is not OK, which is obvious from what they have endured with the loss of life. At the moment, he is focusing on exercises and regaining his mental health,” he said.
Despite reeling from the tragic loss of his daughter, Chauke is set to make his comeback on stage with a concert themed My Music, My Story, a show about him telling his story and explaining his experiences, at the Opera Theatre in Pretoria on September 28.
His daughter died when his vehicle collided with a truck while on his way to his girlfriend’s home, where he was going to drop Onthatile off before making his way to an ANC Siyanqoba rally concert in Lebowakgomo.
Onthatile was a grade 3 pupil at Northern Academy in Polokwane in Limpopo.
