It has been reported that the North West government has spent around R780 000 buying donkey carts as they are looking to empower the community.

According to Sowetan Live, the donkey carts that were bought are actually 20 and were given to the people that are living in the districts that are known as Dibono and also Manwana, not that far from Mahikeng.

Why were they invented?

The main idea to create these kind of donkey carts was to use them in order to transport pupils from school, older people who are coming and going to the pensions and also those who are going to the clinics.

They donkey carts were then handed over during the ceremony this week on Thursday.

It was further reported that most people who benefited the most are women.
