Orlando Pirates loanee Boitumelo Radiopane has insisted he’ll always be ready to return to his mother club but is focussing on his task at Cape Town Spurs for now.

The 20-year-old striker netted 24 goals which won him the Top Goal scorer as well as the Player of the Season award in the DStv Diski Challenge last season.

Radioman, as he is affectionally known, was then loaned out to Cape Town Spurs in the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign but his start of the season was hampered by injuries.

However, he has now returned to full fitness and form and has become a mainstay in Shaun Bartlett’s line-ups in 2023.

He gave one of his first public interviews to iDiski Times this week, discussing a host of topics, among them his Pirates future.

“I think for them to call me, it would be another opportunity. But for me, I think I just have to finish the season where I am now. Because we started already,” Radiopane told iDiski Times.

“I can’t just go now and leave the guys here hanging now. Because I think we have a possibility of getting the team up, getting promotion.

“So for me, when Pirates call me back, it will be an opportunity but whenever they call me, I’ll always be ready. Yes, I’ll be ready!”

The 2021/22 DStv Diski Challenge top goalscorer started the season on the sidelines after suffering an injury in the national team duty and didn’t have a pre-season with team.

Since making his return he has been in phenomenal form, leading the Urban Warriors into the Nedbank Cup last-32 with a late goal deep in extra-time against University Of Pretoria.

Overall, he’s netted four goals in 2023 already and has another chance of adding to that tally when his side face Baroka in the Nedbank Cup last-32 on Friday afternoon.
