Premier Soccer League executive committee decided the membership of Royal AM should be terminated.
The hierarchy, led by chairman Irvin Khoza and acting CEO Mato Madlala, met today to deliberate on an issue that has been dragging for months since suspending the Durban outfit from playing in January.
It’s up to the board of governors – other clubs in the PSL – to approve the verdict to cancel the affiliation of Royal AM to the league.

The team went under SARS curatorship at the start of the year with the tax revenue service seeking to recoup a R40-million debt linked to a family trust fund linked to president Shauwn Mkhize.
With not much luck and fixtures halted, the curator attempted to sell the Betway Premiership status of the club, which almost worked out until the potential buyer failed the vetting process and did not pay the requested deposit to follow through with in closing the deal.
The Exco had been discussing expulsion, but held off given the slight chance SARS could pull off the desperate sale before the end of April.
Royal AM had only played 11 matches prior to their suspension by the league and it has now become nearly impossible to resume their league games.
Member clubs will now convene an urgent meeting to vote on Thwihli Thwahla having their membership terminated.
SABC Sport first broke the story of the troubles the club were nearly three years ago when they breached the contract of striker Samir Nurkovic, who took them to FIFA to claim a settlement of R15-million.
Royal AM never paid and were hit with an indefinite transfer ban, preventing them from signing players since late 2022.
Their existence in the professional ranks is now set for cancelation.
