Pitso Mosimane has apologised to Al Ahli supporters after losing his first game since taking charge of the club in September last year.

Ahli lost 4-1 on Thursday evening against Al Akhdoud, who replaced them at the summit of the Saudi First Division after the thumping.

Mosimane had been 13 games unbeaten prior to the disappointing result and he admits it was ‘unacceptable’ to be beaten in that manner.

“We got humbled tonight. Unacceptable scoreline especially in front of our fans,” Mosimane wrote on social media.

“No excuses, only apologies. Anyway, the race is still long. Sorry.”

With only goal difference separating the top-four promotion-chasing sides, it’s all to play for with 15 games remaining.
