Orlando Pirates could be forced into the market to reinforce the squad due to injuries within the team.

So far this season, the Buccaneers have had some key players struggling with injuries, with the goalkeeping department being one of the areas of concern.

In the latest news, Bucs have had Richard Ofori ruled out of Ghana national team due to injury, which was a major disappointment for the player as he hoped to do duty for his country in Qatar.

Reports in Ghana suggested that the 29-year-old has had fluids on his knee and would not be able to recover in time for the world cup, which led to his subsequent omission from the Black Stars.

Prior to the setback, Ofori had picked an injury against AmaZulu and has had his progress disrupted.

With the goalkeeping department proving to be a worrying position for Bucs again this season, indications are that the club might need to look for another goalkeeper to add to the team either in January or at the end of the season.

Before deciding on signing Sipho Chaine from Chippa United in September, the Soweto giants had been linked with Bafana Bafana keepers Veli Mothwa and Melusi Buthelezi, as well as the Chilli Boy’s Lloyd Kazapua and Tanzanian shot-stopper Aishi Manual, among others.

Former Kaizer Chiefs keeper Daniel Akpeyi had also been linked with the club.

Siyabonga Mpontshane and Kopano Thuntsane are the other keepers currently in the club’s books and have been competing for a starting position with Ofori and Chaine.
