On Monday afternoon, just after 3 pm, Mi7 National Group’s Emergency Medical Services was dispatched after reports of a collision on the R33 near Copesville.
Mi7 medics found that a bakkie had collided with a ambulance, entrapping the drivers from both vehicles in the wreckage.

Several service providers, including Pietermaritzburg firefighters, were on scene to assist.
Four patients were left injured, including two paramedics from the ambulance.
Both drivers were carefully extricated from the respective wreckages and were treated and transported to hospital.
