Former Orlando Pirates coach Owen Da Gama is back in the country after parting ways with Botswana Premier League side Black Lions.

Lions announced, through a statement, that they have agreed to part ways with Da Gama after spending a few months with the club.

‘ODG’ took over coaching reigns at Di Bata Dia Rora in August after they secured the status of VTM. He leaves the side in 10th place on the log after accumulating 13 points in 14 matches.

“Black Lions Football Club wishes to inform its supporters, stakeholders, and the general public that the Club has amicably parted ways, by mutual agreement with Head Coach Owen Da Gama,” read the club statement.

“Black Lions would like to express its sincere gratitude to Coach Da Gama for his commitment, professionalism, and contribution during his time with the Club. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours”.

Efforts to get the club’s Communication Manager, Portia Mlilo, for comment on the future of the rest of the technical team were unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, Da Gama has been linked with the vacant coaching position at Durban City, who are currently without a head coach after parting ways with Gavin Hunt this week.
