“He is back in training and ready to go. He is doing very well at training. He is in a good space. Unfortunately, my knowledge about his availability and date of return is limited. But you know he is a good man and pretty humble.
“But as I have said regarding his availability and selection, my knowledge is limited when it comes to that,” Maela said, speaking to the Siya crew at the Soweto Derby press conference held this week.
With Pirates finalizing preparations for the much-anticipated Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs this weekend, Maela added that as the defence and as a team they are happy and ready to work with whichever goalkeeper plays on the day.

“We believe in all the goalkeepers. It doesn’t really matter who is behind us as the defence. Whether its Sipho (Chaine) or whoever, we are confident in them. They are all good goalkeepers and we work well together.
“Yes Sipho has been doing very well lately and we all support him but as I have said we play as a team no matter who is on the field of play that day,” the Bucs captain concluded.
