Neighbour Luthando Nomchane said the family is still in shock.
“This is a tragic thing to have happened to a young girl, and the village is also shocked. We wish the perpetrator(s) could be arrested soon,” he said.
Police spokeswoman Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa said cops are investigating a case of murder following an incident that occurred at Hlwahlwazi location in Flagstaff on 13 November 2025.
“According to the report, it’s alleged that young kids were on their way to the forest to fetch wood when they noticed dogs eating something. They came closer and they identified that they were busy eating human remains.
“They ran back home and informed the elders who then alerted the police.”
“The deceased’s body was unidentifiable due to its state of decomposition already and the head was covered with a plastic,” said Mawisa.
