Despite his uncertain future at Kaizer Chiefs, striker Tashreeq Morris is yet to attract any interest from potential suitors, with his agent confirming that no offers have been placed on the table for the 31-year-old.

That is the latest on a situation that has been simmering since Morris arrived at Naturena from SuperSport United, and it raises serious questions about what lies ahead for the former Sekhukhune United forward.

Soccer Laduma recently reported that Morris’ future at Chiefs hangs in the balance, even though he still has one year remaining on his contract at the club.

His situation was further complicated in January when a planned loan move to Stellenbosch FC fell through, leaving him without a clear path forward.

Since then, there has been little movement on the Morris front, and his agent, Glyn Binkin, has now confirmed as much.

“There is no news on Morris. He has a further year remaining in his contract at Chiefs,” Binkin told Soccer Laduma.

What makes Morris’ predicament even more concerning is the fact that he has not featured in a single Betway Premiership League match this season.

With only four games remaining before the curtain comes down on the campaign, the chances of him making any kind of appearance are looking very slim.

The striker faces fierce competition for a place in the Chiefs’ matchday squad, with the likes of Ashley Du Preez, Etiosa Ighodaro, Khanyisa Mayo, Wandile Duba and Flavio Da Silva all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Chiefs still have four league matches to play, against Mamelodi Sundowns, Sekhukhune United, AmaZulu FC and Chippa United.

Based on how the season has unfolded for Morris, it would take a remarkable turnaround for him to earn any minutes before the final whistle blows on the current season.
